12.17.08- Job Security

We love to golf and when work is slow you might see all our staff on a local course. The thing is, we're not very good.

We  see a lot of our sunroom and deck work on area homes that look onto the fairways, and we try our best not to hit those homes with errant golf balls.

If you have a broken sunroom window and you have one of my golf balls, I'll be sure to give you a discount on the repair. And let me say beforehand, "I'm sorry."

11.25.08- Whoa!

I once showed up for an estimate appointment, early as usual, and was met at the door by the homeowner's college age daughter. That wasn't unusual.

What was unusual was the fact that all she was wearing was a short t-shirt and underwear. She didn't think a bit about answering the door that way, but I was pretty embarassed. 

11.1.08- Phew! 

Just a few minutes ago I called a customer to give them a price on a carport. I gave her the price and she said, "Phew! That's too much. He just wanted a cheap one for $600."

"The cheap ones don't meet code and will blow away in a storm. That's why we don't build them."

"That doesn't matter."

A lot of people don't care at all if a project meets code or is built properly as long as it's cheap. But when there's a problem, they want it fixed. Building cheap and outside of code requirements just invites a lot of trouble, so we prefer not to work for those customers.

This what happens when unlicensed electricians work on a sunroom!
