Ocean Breeze Awnings & More was founded in 1987 by David R. Powers and Emmett Russell.

Since then, we've strived to improve each and every year by not only refining our current offerings, but by also adding new products and services.

Our Business History

• 1987- Company founded in Myrtle Beach SC by brothers-in-law David R. Powers and Emmett Russell
• 1994- David R. Powers became the sole owner
• 1999- OBA incorporated as Ocean Breeze Awnings, Inc.
• 1999- After being housed in a succession of larger and larger warehouses over the years, OBA moved into it's own 5000 sf facility
• 2000- OBA obtained it's General Contractor license
• 2004- OBA hit it's first million dollar year in gross revenues
• 2007- OBA celebrated it's 20th anniversary
• 2008- Dr. David W. Powers became the first Certified Green Professional in Horry County

Who We Are

Though many of the Powers family work at Ocean Breeze Awnings & More, there are quite a few other key employees who contribute to our success.

Unlike many area remodelers and contractors, we don't use subcontractors for all of our installations. We pride ourselves on using employees who are properly trained, tested, and verified as legal citizens.
